The Byrds – Chester Military College 1970 - UPDATED 2014-02-07

The Byrds –  Chester Military College 1970

Pennsylvania Military College, Chester, PA – December 4, 1970

Roger McGuinn (guitar, vocals)
Clarence White (guitar, mandolin, vocals)
Skip Battin (bass, vocals)
Gene Parsons (drums, banjo, vocals)

Although not mentioned by the file provider, this seems to be one of the joint Byrds / Flying Burrito Brothers concerts. Listen closely to tracks 4, 5 and 6 from set 2.

The Flying Burrito Brothers were:

Chris Hillman, Michael Clarke, Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Bernie Leadon, Rick Roberts.

The last track sounds so different, it probably originates from another concert.

  3. The sequence of songs is so improbable that we either have a very confused "tape" here or, as RB suggests, perhaps a collection of songs from more than one venue. One thing seems certain: tracks 11 and 12 in Set 1 are identical, both being Baby what you want me to do. Don't I sound like a grumbler? They are supposed to be constructive criticisms!
