ReplyDeleteLots to think about here. The show at Lenox was the one where Officer "Obie", made famous by Alice's Restaurant, tried to stop the show, and we don't hear any of that, but perhaps we wouldn't anyway from the soundboard. So let's accept the date of 1 August. I think there is no 's' in the town name. There are towns of Wallingford in Vermont (suggested by the name of the unzipped folder) and Connecticut (as per the artwork); I think the latter is correct. Is it conceivable that they would bring along Terry Melcher so soon after the Byrdmaniax affair? Could it not be Skip playing the piano? It gives a nice mellow feel to several of the songs ... in contrast to the friction between band members evident at some points!
ReplyDeleteI think it's Skip playing the piano when he sings his own songs. But then, who plays the bass? I once asked McGuinn but he couldn't answer.
