The Byrds Live in 1965 (short excerpt).
THE BYRDS
Jim McGuinn
Gene Clark
David Crosby
Mike Clark (that’s how it was spelled on the first LP)
Chris Hillman
Unknown place, sometime in 1965.
It still amazes me that no concert recording is available by the original 5-men lineup (excluding TV and Radio performances, which are not qualified as «concerts»), when such recordings by all other famous band from that era are circulating, officially or unofficially.
The only thing I ever found was this, a 34 seconds, poor quality recording from a live performance of Mr Tambourine Man somewhere, some time in 1965.

An interesting piece of history!
ReplyDeletehard to believe Dickson or Seiter aren't sitting on some tapes. If so, let's hear them.
ReplyDeleteI think there probably are recordings in existence but have yet to surface as bootlegs or official recordings. I have searched for many years but not through serious hardcore circles. I do know some collectors never make certain recordings available unless there is something of equal value to trade for. I found this to be true while collecting The Doors live recordings. Since I had access to 35mm negatives of the Doors in Miami i was able to trade with many folks in the US, Canada and Europe. Needless to say that it was a rewarding experience and some of these recordings still have not been commercially available 12 years after I initially came into their possession.
